Shane stepped onto the bow and turned for a last look at his lady Mila and crew. There was nothing that either of them could do other than sit out of range over the horizon. They all held that unspoken communication as time stopped around them. Here stood immortal friends that would never be separated from the spiritual bond they now shared.
Turning, Shane stood at the tip of the bow and lungned, ever so gracefully, diving in full power and dominance over this mere mortal body that was so-easily performing the acts of a god. The dorsals had already left the water and together, as one united power of the ocean, pierced the tops of the clean even swell and drove deep into the depths of water, almost reaching into the total darkness of this underwater world.
Mila, Gary, Max, and Pei stood still for moments only and then all continued with the caring of Hi-Sun all in preparation for what this vital night will bring. It was only a matter of hours before the planet would reach the outer orbit and touch that final point that Slab had been so desperately waiting for. All of the planet’s forces would pause for that brief moment and then it would be time to switch the execution switches, commencing planetary evaporation and the packaging of the universe’s most precious jewel.
The anti matter formed from the water was the highest form of energy known, and it was of the highest demand in the “Black Universe”. There were no other forms that carried such an abundance of almost eternal energy. The holder of this resource was to be the wealthiest of all “Dark Beings” in the desperate and totally opposite world from which the evil forces reside. Shane rose vertically with his main dorsal directly under the eleventh Rig. He lifted up ever so gently and stepped onto the disposal platform. Stepping into the Rig, all was extremely calm and no sign of abnormal operation or alert. All of the Rigs were now into the last night of their mission, they sat in a very normal operation just holding the line for the event that was very soon to occur.
Shane took the time to scan the Rig and ensure that there was no additional crew that may jump out with any unexpected surprises. Alerting the Monitor would be the end of the line. There would be no way of escaping his high tech power, were he to discover the infiltration that was now occurring right below his observation ship.
There was only a deck hand and operator present performing as the skeleton crew that they were set up for. Shane silently arrested the decky and slid him over the platform for the dorsals to take away. He then stepped into the mind of the operator ever so swiftly, taking the weight of the control while simultaneously placing his hand on its forehead and rolling him back through the Weeper until he sat there in a mesmerizing mess of misery.
Placing the operator into the mouth of the next floating dorsal, he was now only one Rig away from stealing the balance of the mission from the treacherous and most evil Monitor patrolling continually above the full line of Rigs.
Shane took the greatest care to dive in alignment with the deepest shadow of the Rig. He was already in the air, but it was now too late. Below him and unnoticed until this very moment, there were slicer sharks carving in from all directions. He was diving vertically towards the ocean’s surface and directly beneath him, driving through the water, that same ever so dark, powerful and immortally evil slicer shark that he had so narrowly escaped the jaws of back at the White Sapphire Crystal.
This time there would be no escaping. Shane had the power of water and could move and manipulate it as he pleased, but here, falling through the air, he was at the will of the planet’s gravity, pulling him down and unavoidably into the jaws of what appeared to be the king of all slicer sharks.
Is it the end. This precious water planet just lost it’s best defender. With Shane now taken out of the game, how would the last Rig be unbalanced to spoil the theft of the Monitor and the inevitable evaporation of this precious water planet?
