Chapter 19 - Got Him
Dad and I arrived at the hospital front to find Simal sitting on the garden bench under the trees.
“Shane!” She called as she spotted me and dad walking into the entrance courtyard.
It was always so surprising to find pristine gardens around these institutions of death. The grass all mowed so perfectly and the hedges trimmed to Victorian perfection. A short walk to the city beach, ghosted by the seaside cliffs that had been the way out for so many that chose the drop of the cliff rather than a minute further in their chemically incarcerated hell.
The perfect cover for what was going on behind the closed doors. this one of many, a living hell on earth.
“I’ve been trying to get past the bureaucracy of this fortress since I first found out on Monday Shane. It’s just impossible. It just blows me away that we don’t have the least snippet of rights with these Nazis. Even the Commission are working hard at this, but by the time we get past it all, this poor guy is going to be so badly beat up.”
“Hey! Thanks for being here Samil. I just didn’t know and only today got your messages.
“Won’t be long guys..” Said Dad. He was working pretty seriously on something. He was totally calm and just went to work.
“You two wait here for a minute. I just have to check that he really is admitted here.”
Dad walked confidently into the front reception and gave a final turn back to me and Simal before he entered, giving the one finger to assure he would be only a minute.
It was about 10 minutes and he came out. “We’ve got the right place guys. Come on now, we need to eat. Nothing is going to happen for a few hours yet.”
I had no idea what Dad had in plan, but he had something cooking.
